About Us

Welcome to Grace Baptist Church

We are so excited with what the Lord is doing at Grace Baptist Church, and we want you to be a part of it! The best way you can help is to get plugged in to our Sunday School Groups and find your community. There is a need for all of us to have other people that will care for us and pick us up when needs arise, and that is the purpose of the church. As we grow together, it is our mission to spread the Gospel and make disciples locally, countrywide, and worldwide. In essence we want you to come to Grace Baptist Church to help us as we strive to Love God, Serve Others, and Show Grace.

LOVE GOD

We want the name of Jesus Christ magnified above all else. Through our loyalty to Jesus, we encourage all members and attenders to pursue him with our whole lives as a holy sacrifice. We worship Jesus together as a church through meeting corporately, in small groups, through discipleship, and with our giving. As servant leaders develop, we must also be prepared to fulfill the needs of those that are within the church as well. In all these ways, we show as individuals our devotion to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Deuteronomy 6:5

SERVE OTHERS

One of the most important things that God has done at Grace Baptist Church is give the vision at 477 Old Cass White Road. It strategically places us within a couple miles from the exact center of Bartow County, and gives us an opportunity to serve other around us without traveling limitations. We strive to be present within our community, providing resources and needs, and making an impact as a representative of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 25:40

SHOW GRACE

Our goal is to be a church that is equipped to "go and make disciples of all nations". The only way to properly do this is by sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We affirm and believe that Jesus Christ lived a perfect life and died as ransom, and resurrected on the third day to defeat death (2 For.5:21, Rom 5:8) all for the sins of mankind so there could be reconciliation between God and man. We profess faith in Jesus Christ as our mediator, and no man comes to the Father except through faith in Jesus Christ.

We are so glad that you decided to visit us!

At Grace, we want you to feel at home and find a place to connect. In fact, we call our church a family. You will be surrounded by caring people who love God and love others. Whether you are a large family or a family of one, we invite you to see what Grace is all about.

What we believe!

Grace Baptist Church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of “The Baptist Faith and Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention, June 14, 2000.

Statement of Faith
The Statement of Faith of Grace Baptist Church reflects our belief in Scripture and Scripture alone. We voluntarily band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. These tenets are the basis for fulfilling the mission of the Church.

GOD THE FATHER – We believe, love, and worship the one and only unchanging, sovereign, and loving God, the Creator and Ruler of all things in heaven and earth. God is manifest in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
*Genesis 1:1,26; Exodus 20:2-3; Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Chronicles 29:11,12; Job 38-41; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 6:9; 1 Peter 1:2

JESUS CHRIST THE SON – Jesus Christ, our Lord, is God in the flesh. He is the Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, fully God, fully man, sinless. He died on the cross in our place for our sins, was buried, resurrected from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father, as our Advocate, and will return to judge the living and the dead. He will return someday to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
*Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1:31-33; John 1:1-18; Acts 1:9-11; Acts 2:22-24; 1 Corinthians 15; Hebrews 1:1-3; Revelation 5:9-14

HOLY SPIRIT – The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, exalting Christ and convicting us of our sin and need for Jesus Christ. He fully lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He comforts, teaches, and empowers us to live in righteousness. He equips every believer with spiritual gifts for service in the Body of Christ.
*Matthew 1:18; John 14:16-17; John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Peter 4:10

BIBLE – The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God to reveal God and His will to man. The Bible has God as its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error. The Bible is the sole authority for Christian Living, the supreme source of truth for what we believe and how we behave.
*Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Psalm 12:6; Psalm 19:7-10; Psalm 119:105, 160; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16;
2 Peter 1:20-21

MANKIND – Man is made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. Male and female were created to worship God, to glorify Him, and to have dominion over the earth. Sin separates man from God, and man is eternally doomed unless he receives salvation in Jesus Christ.
*Genesis 1:26; Psalm 8:3-6; Acts 17:26-31; Romans 3:10-18, 23

SIN – Adam, the first man, sinned by disobeying God. This act resulted in the fall of mankind, meaning that all people have sinned and lost their ability to live in perfect obedience to God. Sin separates people from God for eternity and causes many problems in life.
*Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:10-23, 5:12-21, 6:23

SALVATION – Since all persons are separated from God by sin and are in need of forgiveness, God offers the free gift of salvation. We can never earn nor do we deserve salvation by good works. Each person must individually accept this gift, repent of sin, and place faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
*Exodus 6:2-8; Matthew 16:21-26; John 3:15-16; John 17:3; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:1; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9

ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER – We believe our true salvation, provided by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, is eternally secure. It is imperishable and no man or circumstance can snatch us out of the powerful hand of God because Jesus Christ has made an everlasting covenant with us. If one has been truly saved, he cannot “lose” his salvation.
*2 Samuel 23:5; John 3:36; John 5:24; John 10:28; John 14:6; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Peter 1:4;
1 John 5:11-13

PRIESTHOOD OF THE BELIEVER/EVANGELISM – Every believer is a minister and has direct access to God through Jesus Christ, the high priest. It is the responsibility and privilege of every Christian to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and to seek to make disciples.
*Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 3:7; Ephesians 4:11-16; Hebrews 4:14-16; Hebrews 10:19-22

ETERNITY - God created people to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
*John 3:16; Romans 6:23, 8:17-18; I Corinthians 2:7-9; Revelation 20:15

THE CHURCH – Jesus Christ is the head of His Body, the Church. The Church is the body of Christ and the family of God. The purpose of the Church is to carry out His mission in the world and is best lived out in local, autonomous churches. It is made up of saved and baptized believers, who celebrate God’s presence (worship), demonstrate God’s love (ministry), communicate God’s Word (evangelism), incorporate God’s family (fellowship), and educate God’s people (discipleship).
*Matthew 16:15-19; Acts 2:41-42, 47; Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4:10-16; Revelation 2 & 3

FAMILY - The family, composed of persons related by blood, marriage or adoption, is ordained by God as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is a lifetime covenant commitment of one man and one woman reflecting the union of Christ and His Church. The framework of marriage provides for the intimate expression of companionship and sexual relationship, including procreation, according to Biblical standards. Children, from the moment of conception, are to be valued as a gift of life from God Almighty. Parents are to love, teach, discipline and model Biblical truth before their children; children are to honor and obey their parents.
*Genesis 2:18-22; Exodus 20:12; Leviticus 20:13; Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Psalm 127:3-5; Psalm 139:13-16; Proverbs 22:6; Mark 10:6-9; 1 Corinthians 7:1-16; Ephesians 5:21-33

MARRIAGE AND HUMAN SEXUALITY –  We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning and that marriage is sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other and that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, polygamous relations, bestiality, incest, pornography or any attempt to change one's sex, or disagreement with one's biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God.
*Genesis 1:27-28; Matthew 19:4-6; I Corinthians 6:9-13; Ephesians 5:31-33; Romans 1:26-27; Hebrews 13:4

BELIEVER’S BAPTISM - Baptism by immersion follows Christ’s example, symbolizing death, burial and resurrection to new life in Christ. It serves as a testimony of faith after accepting Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
*Acts 2:41: Romans 6:4; Matthew 3:11; Colossians 2:12

LORD’S SUPPER/COMMUNION - The Lord’s Supper is an act of obedience and a testimony of faith. It symbolically memorializes the death of Jesus Christ. Self-examination and confession of sins should precede participation in the Lord’s Supper. At Meadowdale, we strive to have The Lord’s Supper no less than once per quarter.
*Matthew 3:13-17; Matthew 26:26-30; Matthew 28:19; Acts 16:30-33; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12

SALVATION
ROMANS 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

ADMIT that you have sinned and ask Him to forgive you of your sins.

“But if we confess our sins to Him, He can be depended on to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.”  (1 John 1:9)

BELIEVE that Jesus died to pay for your sins and that He rose again and is alive today.

“That if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  (Romans 10:9)

CONFESS Christ as your Savior and SUBMIT to His Leadership in your life.
“To all who receive Him, He gives the right to become children of God.  All we need to do is to trust Him to save us.  All those who believe this are reborn!  -- not a physical rebirth...but from the will of God!” (John 1:12-13)

REPENT and turn to God.
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord!” (Acts 3:19)

“Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”  (Romans 10:13)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Why Baptism by Immersion?

The word “baptize” means “to dip under the water.”

Because Jesus was baptized.

As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water.”  (Matthew 3:16)

It best symbolizes a burial and resurrection.

Christ’s - “For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ...”  (Colossians 2:12)

Ours - “When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand-new person inside.  He is not the same anymore.  A new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Baptism doesn’t make you a believer - it shows that you already believe.  Baptism doesn’t “save” you; only the grace of God through your faith in Christ does that (Eph. 2:8-9).  Baptism is like a wedding ring - it’s the outward symbol of the commitment you already made and the relationship you already have.

Who should be Baptized?

Every person who has believed in Christ.
“Those who believed and accepted His message were baptized...”  (Acts 2:41)

At Grace Baptist Church, we wait until our children are capable of believing and understanding the true meaning of baptism before we baptize them.

Some churches practice “baptism of confirmation” for children.  This ceremony is intended to be a covenant between the parents and God on the behalf of the child.  This custom began about 300 years after the Bible was completed.

This is different from the baptism talked about in the Bible, which was only for those capable of belief.  The purpose was to publicly confess your personal commitment to Christ.

At Grace  Baptist, it is a membership requirement that every member be baptized the way Jesus demonstrated, even though many of us were “confirmed” as children.

Why Next Steps Membership?

God is a covenant God
Church members don’t do anything more than the Bible asks of any Christian, but becoming a member is an expression of commitment to a church. You move from guest to family member. Members invest in fellowship and pray for others. They volunteer and look for ways to serve. They give sacrificially as the Bible describes. And they invite the accountability and support that a church family provides.
